VOYAGER 1 SPACE PROBE IN THE NEWS

by Douglas Roger Dexheimer

Reports on the tremendous distance travelled by the Voyager 1 space probe since its launch in 1977 is something I have casually monitored over the years.  However I was unaware until recently that it has “officially moved out of our solar system.”  An electronic version of Discover Magazine appeared in my email on September 19th.  The headline article is discussed below.

The actual realization that Voyager 1 had left our solar system did not become immediately apparent to NASA scientists until quite some time after the event had occurred:

The data came courtesy of a fortuitous coronal mass ejection from the sun in March 2012. The force of this ejection, when it hit Voyager in April 2013, vibrated the surrounding plasma, which the instruments on the spacecraft were able to measure. 1

Note that it took five months (April to September) for the announcement and the subsequent article in Discover Magazine to appear.  (Further announcement details are provided at the Discover website given.)

A number of intriguing thoughts are raised in light of this announcement:

  • Voyager 1 is transmitting signals much longer than originally expected.
  • Transmission is also expected to continue well into the future.
  • Signals are apparently penetrating the ionized plasma located far beyond our sun.
  • No mention is made of the Pioneer anomaly, which once again raises the issue of the speed of radio waves.
  • Why the” media blackout” between the time of the event and its public acknowledgement?
  • The transmitter is only 23 watts!  Why so small?

Looking back through the data, the Voyager team believes the big day — i.e., when Voyager actually crossed the boundary into interstellar space — was probably August 25, 2012.

That’s an anniversary the craft will be able to celebrate for many years to come, scientists hope. New York Times reports that study author Edward Stone ‘expects Voyager 1 to keep sending back data — with a 23-watt transmitter, about the equivalent of a refrigerator light bulb — until roughly 2025.’ 1

I asked David Penny, CSAMA’s resident physicist, an expert on electromagnetic wave propagation, for his comments on Voyager 1, and “variable c” (“c” is the scientific variable used to represent the speed of light, hence radio waves):

They (NASA) lost contact with Pioneer 10 back in 2003, I believe, but I was not aware that they still had contact with one of the Voyagers, evidently Voyager I.  The Pioneer [space probes transmitted with a power of only 5 watts].  All of the probes are dependent on a small nuclear source to generate small amounts of energy.

I am not sure that they are conducting experiments with Voyager comparing the lapse time of a signal transmission and the position of the probe according to Newtonian gravitational mechanics.  So that is probably why they are silent on the Pioneer anomaly that has so many unanswered questions for the Einsteinian relativists.

Sincerely,

Dave Penny

The Star of Bethlehem, DVD

For centuries, skeptics and seekers alike have pondered the star of Bethlehem. The Bible describes unusual or even impossible astronomical events at Christ's birth. Was it a miracle or mere myth? This compelling DVD — from producer Stephen McEveety ("The Passion of the Christ") — examines Scripture, ancient writings, indisputable astronomical facts and more. Learn nine specific features of the star recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, how it established a date for Jesus' birth and death . . . and its significance for you today!

RAVENS & DOVES STILL INVOLVED
IN
“SPYING OUT THE LAND”

by Douglas Roger Dexheimer

A radio broadcast I heard recently featured a discussion of several programs currently being conducted by the CIA, one of which involves the use of trained birds and other animals to “eavesdrop" on the enemy.  One of the birds being used behind enemy lines is the raven, regarded by some as the most intelligent of avian species.  A raven has been successfully “employed” by the CIA to listen to conversations in Russian apartment buildings via a small listening device planted on the bird.  (Hear the original October 12th radio broadcast at http://www.npr.org/2013/10/13/233354052/birds-of-a-feather-spy-together.  For more information on the intelligence of ravens, see http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2012/06/20/smart-ravens.aspx.)

Another experimental project involves the use of trained pigeons (more specifically, rock doves) to guide a missile toward a desired target.  (Regarding the mental prowess of pigeons — i.e., rock doves — see http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2012/02/03/pigeons-get-a-little-respect.aspx.)

It seems as if the CIA (for better or worse) is referencing well-known biblical principles in carrying out its more “successful” covert programs…!  After all, what two types of birds did Noah choose to send forth from the ark after the waters of the flood had begun to recede?  What else?  A raven and a dove:

And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. (Genesis 8:4–14, KJV.)

I do not believe it was accidental that Noah picked these two kinds of birds to “scope out” the land that he probably could not see from the ark’s window.

UNCHANGING TRUTH,
vs.
REVISED EVOLUTIONARY DECEPTION

by Douglas Roger Dexheimer

The truth of creation and human origins is recorded in Genesis, the first book of the Holy Bible.  The truths recorded there have not changed since the words were written.  Various translations of the Bible do not change the truth — truth does not need updating, since truth never changes

Evolutionary scientists (archeologists in this case) seem to continually challenge the truth of creation.  In fact they revise their own story every time something old (!) turns up.  Read on....

During the week of October 14th, an interesting media announcement came to my attention from a number of directions.  A brief search of the internet yielded the following items in connection with the recent discovery of what is being called “Skull 5”:

The New York Times: “The discovery of Skull 5 alongside the remains of four other hominids at Dmanisi, a site in Georgia rich in material of the earliest hominid travels ....”

The Globe and Mail‎: “Newly-discovered hominid skull gives glimpse of humanity's past ... sheds light on human species ....”

The announcement was also published as the cover story in a recent issue of Discover Magazine.1  Note that Discover Magazine is owned by Disney (i.e., The Walt Disney Company) an organization well-known for their creation and presentation of fairy tales, and all manner of occult programming.

Not surprisingly, the recent discovery is rife with assumptions and guesswork.  Note the wording chosen by the author of the Discover article:

Skull 5, from a partially excavated site at Dmanisi, Georgia, is the world’s first complete adult skull found from the Early Pleistocene period, according to the study’s authors. The skull’s cranium and jaw bone were found five years apart, about six feet from each other, but researchers are confident they came from the same individual [emphasis added].2

Does this remind you of similar “stories” regarding the discovery of the hominid "Lucy," whose bones were found by anthropologist Donald Johanson?  Here’s what one critic has to say about that particular find:

Lucy’s entire skeleton was found about two and a half kilometers from the site in which the bipedal knee joint was found ((“In Search of Human Origins.” Nova, PBS, 3 June 1997. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/transcripts/2106hum1.html)). The conclusion that both fossils originate from the same species is questionable, and might have been influenced by Johanson’s pre-existing biases. To this day the argument continues about the validity of the dating of Lucy’s bones, as well as the other scattered bones found in the same vicinity. This argument does not add credibility to the claim that the knee joint Johanson found previously belongs to the same species as Lucy, or even that they are from the same period of time [emphasis added].3

Around this time period I heard the same highly speculative information on a local PBS radio station’s late-night broadcast of BBC programming.

Basically, the Discover article claims that the discovery revises evolution’s previous “story” to say that all humans are evolved from a single ancestor, 1.8 million years ago:

A complete skull found in the Eurasian country of Georgia could be evidence that early hominids are actually all members of a single species. The view challenges long-held ideas about human evolution and could upend decades of classifying early hominids into different species, such as Homo erectusHomo rudolfensis and Homo habilis.4

The skull’s discovery sparks some interesting thoughts for careful consideration:

  1. The discovery was in very close proximity to Mount Ararat, the mountain on which the Ark came to rest after the Genesis flood.   This location may be a far more likely place to find early skulls than are the plains of Africa.
  2. The article assigns an age of 1.8 million years.  The figure appears to be an outright guess — absolutely no data are presented in the article to corroborate it.
  3. The article reports the work of archeologists.  However, Lucy was found by an anthropologist.  Both archeology and anthropology rely on a “scientific” investigation of history.  Furthermore, both rely heavily on their researchers’ vivid imaginations and story-telling abilities.  Peers from both of these disciplines generally seem very happy to accept those “imaginations” — as long as the truth of creation is never mentioned. Is it possible that the evolutionists are beginning to agree with the Holy Bible — i.e. that all men descended from Adam, the first created human?  Perhaps they’ll revise their story once more, when some exciting new discovery points them in a completely different direction.
